The ladies at our Amani Kenya center are offering the fruits of peace and the work of their hands through their contemporary African quilt shop.
The quilts are designed and crafted in Nairobi, Kenya using local and international materials. To create an exclusive look, they dye, batik, and screen print their own fabrics. They also incorporate traditional East African kitenge and kikoi fabrics, as well as high-quality West African mud cloth. This variety provides a unique canvas for their contemporary designs.
The quilters hand-stitch all of their bindings and use a free-arm sewing machine to quilt all-over swirl, meander, and floral designs. They measure and cut all scraps and cloth uniquely for each quilt. And finally, they label them with their Amani path symbol to represent their individual lives coming together for a common journey towards peace and reconciliation.

May the quilts of Amani Ya Juu bring peace to your home!
