Letters From Our Children

At Amani ya Juu (Peace from Above), we aren’t just sewing peace–we’re passing peace down to the next generation.

Three times a year, production at our Kenya center shuts down and our focus shifts to the children of our seamstresses and trainees.

The event is a day camp called Amani Watoto, “Children of Peace” in Swahili.

The children celebrate peace and forgiveness through games, crafts, and stories. Though they come from different ethnic groups, they learn to love and accept one another regardless of differences. The events are run entirely byAmani ya Juu women, who contribute their unique skills by teaching, organizing, and cooking.

All donations made to Amani Watoto will go to teaching materials, crafts, and hot lunches.
